Weekend Wrap Up! (On Tuesday)

I feel a little redundant saying “Another great weekend at The Tap!” but it seems to be a recurring theme. We had the MSF Band up on Saturday night in the Limelight, and they were great as always. We had a great time downstairs with Keith in the Playpen, I don’t think we’ve ever given away as much free swag to winners off our beerball machine! I suppose everybody who keeps playing ski-ball down there is getting good. We’re going to have to up the ante!

This week we have a good amount going on. If you’ve missed it so far, our Karaoke is incredible. I’ve seen some good singers in the past, but these guys blow me away. That is until you hear me sing. I like to think its funny. I just hope nobody thinks of it as painful. We haven’t promoted our Karaoke night much yet, but the turnout keeps getting better and better!

To those who missed it, our amazing chef has been pulling out all the stops for our beer dinners. The Valentine’s Day dinner was to die for. I’ll be posting pictures of the food to the website soon, so keep an eye on that banner for some mouth-watering delights!

Our Ignoble Lager has been on tap for a little bit now, its hoppy and delicious, but if you haven’t tried it, come down and have a pint! It will soon be replaced by one of my personal favorites, our Scapegoat Bock!

This weekend we have the RowdyBar Blues Band upstairs on Friday, which should be lots of fun. Saturday night we have our friends with Don’t Call Me Shirley, who always impress us. You can check them out at http://dcmsband.com/. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

45s Night @ The Tap

So we’re considering doing a 45s night at The Tap. Though we’re very early in the planning process, we wanted to know what people would be interested in doing, and if this is actually as good of an idea as we think it is. We don’t have a date, time, schedule, or anything specifically set in stone. What we do know is that we’d be having it in our Limelight Lounge on an evening when there isn’t any music, have a team elimination style game and a specific set of rules with a prize at the end of it all. I’d honestly like some feedback, which is welcome here, or on our Facebook. Would you like Thursdays, Sundays, another day of the week? Should we do prizes, what would you like to see? Would you be interested in a night like this? I want to open this up to the people who would be joining us, and hopefully have you all down soon for a night of 45s!

Weekend Wrap-Up!

Its been another great weekend down here at the Tap, and though the weather’s cold, we’re just warming up! Wow. That was incredibly lame. Anyway. We had the guys from the Groove Cats down last night, and though it was a little slow, they certainly rocked the house!

Our playpen bar downstairs has become popular. So popular in fact that we’re taking down the closet in there sometime soon to make room for more fun stuff! We don’t know what fun toy to put there, but keep checking back, I’ll keep you posted.

The weather outside this week was so nice that we actually had diners sitting on the deck. I can’t say I’ve seen that in February before. All I know is that it is making me exceptionally excited for spring. We’re watching the weather carefully, and we hope to have everyone down on our deck sooner rather than later! We also have some great things planned for the deck this summer, but I’ll wait to talk about that, I don’t want anyone to itch for summertime too soon now.

Our Pentucket Dark Ale will be coming off the Brewer’s Choice soon, and we’re looking forward to the next Lager we’ve got coming up!

Mug Club sign-ups are going fast. We’re waiting on the new mugs, we wanted boots… you know, it is our thing. Unfortunately the boot mugs that came in were a little too “cowboy,” so we’ve got some clean, cool mugs coming in soon. We’re limiting the initial Mug Club membership to sixty, so if you haven’t signed up yet, hop on it!

Mug Club!

So the idea has been tossed around for quite some time, but we’ve finally ironed out the kinks, and we’re just about ready to roll! We posted the sample mugs we got for the mug club, which we’ve since decided we wouldn’t be using, and started getting calls within MINUTES! I’ve got to say, I was impressed.

So though the mug idea is still up in the air, we’ve been singing up our members to be almost non-stop, so I wanted to take a minute to go over the perks of joining.

For $35 a year, you will receive:

1. A special Tap Brewpub mug, kept in our playpen, to be retrieved whenever you come in for a drink.

2. Tuesdays are half priced fried pickles, onion rings, half nachos, chips and guac, appetizer fries or soup

3. A free entree within two weeks of your birthday, before or after

4. For every 12 entrees purchased, a free beer dinner ticket for one.

5.Any time one of our home teams win a championship, Mug Club members will get a free party downstairs in our playpen.

6. Mug Club members will be able to attend a quarterly beer tasting hosted by our brewer himself with a plethora of different beers, upcoming, cask, and specialty.

7. Each member will get their name and number on the Mug Club plaque that will be hung in our playpen bar downstairs.

So there you have it! Call the bar to sign up for the wait list, and as soon as the new mugs are in, we’ll be giving everyone a call!

Weekend Wrap-Up!

So we had a great weekend down here at The Tap, and a big thanks to everyone who stopped in for the Drift Session Fundraiser! It was a big success, and we look forward to doing more for different causes in the future. If you didn’t hear about it, we had the band Drift Session down, playing some supa-fly covers, a $20 cover charge that went directly to Children’s Hospital, and a raffle whose proceeds also went right to Children’s Hospital.

Also a big thanks to Hellrazor Events for putting on another awesome event! The Bluegrass and Heart Breakdown was lots of fun, Analog Heart and The Four Legged Faithful rocked (is rocked an ok term for a bluegrass show?) the house. We’ll be doing a lot more themed events in the months to come, so keep your eyes on our website, Facebook page as well as Hellrazor Event’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/HellrazorEvents.

So lets talk weather. It’s been a mild winter for sure, and the trend seems to be keeping on, so hopefully we’ll have a nice, warm spring! If that is the case, everybody can look forward to an early start on our deck! (date TBA, of course) We’re looking forward to it immensely!
